A
gig
on Saturday 7th February. The event starts at 15:00.
Join us for an afternoon of eclectic ambient from the Muzak Concrète DJs (Noods Radio) interwoven with tabletop experiments from local ambient artists. A tapestry of cascading synths, bleeps, celestial vibrations, field recordings, earthy drones, ambient and ambience. We make a space for indirect listening and background enjoyment. Bring your knitting, a book, chess set or just yourself and immerse yourself in the music. This month we are joined by Sudden Spectrum and Jack Smale.
Sudden Spectrum
Originally hailing from the docklands of the South Coast, Sudden Spectrum has been making music for the vast majority of their life. Inspired by everything from the proto-industrial of Throbbing Gristle to more contemporary visionaries like Black Dice, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith and James Ferraro, they have recently favoured a spontaneous improvisational approach. Utilising a rudimentary hardware setup comprised of a looper, toy keyboard and a few fx pedals, Sudden Spectrum promises a set of hypnotic shimmering psychedelia.
Jack Smale
Jack Smale is a sound artist, producer and guitarist working across ambient, drone, glitch, experimental and computer music. His current practice centres on collage, utilizing; sampling, field recordings, synthesis and granular processing. Through digital manipulation he creates harmonically dense soundscapes threaded with glitch.
