Tim Funnell Trio at Beer Emporium

A gig on Thursday 31st October. The event starts at 19:00.

The Tim Funnell Trio plays contemporary arrangements of jazz standards as well as original compositions. The trio has a strong link to the post bop tradition but is also influenced by jazz musicians such as Brad Mehldau, Aaron Parks, Robert Glasper and Mark Guiliana.

The band is led by pianist and composer Tim Funnell who was lucky enough to have the opportunity to study in the Netherlands and in France with incredible teachers. His style includes elements from the whole of the jazz tradition as well as influences outside such as from Rock, Hip Hop, Neo Soul and Afrobeat.

The lineup is completed with the exceptional Italian duo of Pasquale Votino on bass and Paolo Adamo on drums. Pasquale is one of the most hard working and in demand musicians on the Bristol music scene, a master of walking bass lines and soulful bass solos. Paolo Adamo is a superb drummer with exquisite sensitivity and free flowing creativity always responding in the moment to whatever emerges.
