We Are Interstellar at Boiling Wells

A event on Saturday 29th November. The event starts at 10:00.

A KIN 'Widening Circles' workshop. Facilitated by: Kanada Gorla, Trace Mulzac & Chiz Williams

November turning into December! Some of us love the winter, but some of us know that as the days grow shorter and the light declines, we can start to find things tough.

‘We Are Interstellar’ is a space for you to pool your resources and greet the coming of winter. Come as you are. Nothing to fix, just an invitation to rest, release and rekindle your curiosity for the world.

During this gentle day in a small group, we’ll dig into the past, present and the future, honouring the turn of the season, our various lineages and the feelings that are coming up for us. We'll get curious about the complexities and richness of being human at this time in history.

Maybe you're tired, maybe you're grappling with anxieties about the world at large, seeking connection or needing some seasonal nourishment. If so, this Kin 'Widening Circles' session provides some deep restorative holding and playful practices.

Come to the wonderful Boiling Wells site for a small group session with food/drinks. Set in the heart of Bristol, it's a cosmic but very grounded day long programme, inspired by our love of the natural world and the Work that Reconnects.

PLEASE NOTE - Arrive by time is 09.45am, to start at 10.00am.
Lunch and snacks provided.

- clearer, lighter and more resourced

Joanna Macy:
This event is indebted to Joanna Macy, who died earlier this summer. She was an environmental activist, author and scholar of Buddhism, general systems theory and deep ecology. Her brave and tender practise based approach to conflict and healing and 'The Work That Reconnects' all get referenced during this session.

Taking care of yourself and others:
Participation in this group workshop will be with people of various ages and the day will involve some physical activities and emotional conversations to be conducted in a creative and caring environment. It will be therapeutic but it isn’t therapy. Please don’t come if you have any Covid/Flu symptoms. To all our health!

Access
The space has muddy walkways and there are slopes, so it may be difficult for people with limited mobility. Get in touch if you are unsure if it’s right for you.

This workshop is organised by KIN, a group of people who support and resource grassroots community workers and provide useful and restorative events, programmes and alliances. 'Widening Circles' is Kin's public facing event programme.

FACILITATORS:

Kanada Gorla has facilitated groups for many years, first as a theatre director in community projects and later in the context of mentoring and growing people and organisations. Kanada works in a somatic way, and with the natural world, allowing all of our intelligences to be engaged - mind, heart, emotions, body and spirit. Kanada runs KIN with Chiz and Trace; and leads her own social business SHINE to seed regenerative cultures, develop horizontal leadership and foster a mindset of stewardship and collaboration between humans and with the more-than-human world.

Trace Mulzac grew up in Bristol and knows the value of being part of a community that looks after each other. She loves seeing people come together across communities and cultures, growing their confidence, getting outside their bubbles and learning from one another. Seeing this social cohesion beginning to decline, Trace decided to do something about it and built a team that started putting on events to rebuild those connections. She runs DET Community and DET Entertainment and the amazing Community MOTs.

Chiz Williams is deeply embedded in the cultural and community life of Bristol, supporting culture and community makers, often working at a grassroots level as a community curator and mentor. He works to define and blur and re-imagine arts and social work with all kinds of clubs, enterprises and groups such as RADMIN, Cables & Cameras, Packers FC, The Cube Microplex, LISA, Kitchen Table Photo Club, Qu Junktions and KIN.
