Bring Down the Haus: Laura Blomvall, Matt Haw and Isabelle Thompson

We are excited to bring back our Bring Down the Haus series fo poetry readings with this trio of poets.

Laura Blomvall is a Finnish poet living in Windmill Hill, Bristol. Her poems have appeared in The Poetry Review, Propel Magazine, A Mouthful of Air podcast and elsewhere. Her debut poetry pamphlet, Enter Moon, was published by Broken Sleep Books in September 2025.

Matt Haw was born in south-east England and educated at Bath Spa University and Lancaster University. He is the author of Nordic Sublime (Shearsman 2026) and two chapbooks, Saint-Paul-de-Mausole (tall-lighthouse, 2014) and Boudicca (Templar, 2021). Nordic Sublime was longlisted for the Jerwood Prize for Best First Collection 2026 and his work has also been recognised with an Eric Gregory Award, the iOTA Shots Pamphlet Award and an East Anglian Book Award.

Isabelle Thompson is a graduate of Bath Spa University’s MA in Creative Writing, where she now works as a research assistant supporting programmes looking into story skills and inclusive support for writers. She is widely published in magazines, and her poetry has appeared on BBC Upload. She was the winner of the 2022 Poets and Players competition, finalist in the 2021 Mslexia single poem competition, and shortlisted for the 2025 Bridport Prize. Her debut pamphlet, Stalin’s Parrot, is published with Poetry Space. Her unpublished pamphlet, All Those Who Will Be Saved, was highly commended in the Cinnamon Press pamphlet competition.
