Bookhaus artist series: Black Lodge at Bookhaus

A event held at Bookhaus on Friday 18th September. The event starts at 18:00.

Since taking over the bookshop a year ago we have been keen to begin expanding our artistic and cultural offering further. Phil, our new Co-Owner, is an Illustrator with strong links to artists and illustrators around the country. The shop has great big window displays that have the potential for displaying more visual art in all kinds of formats. We are delighted to finally be launching this new program by welcoming Black Lodge to bookhaus as our first artist in residence. We will be welcoming CJ Reay, the person behind Black Lodge to bookhaus for a conversation on his artistic practices. Tickets cost £7 and include a glass of wine or a soft drink. Presented by bookhaus.

Cj Reay is an artist from Cumberland in the North West of England. Inspired by autonomous movements, radical history and DIY culture he creates agitational art in print and fabric. He’s also one of the underground horticulturists responsible for the Anarchist Gardeners Club. For the last 15 years he has operated Black Lodge Press; a publishing project putting out zines, prints and other radical ephemera.
