A
event
held at Bookhaus
on Monday 30th September. The event starts at 18:00.
In a world that expects all women to become mothers, what happens to those who choose not to, who can’t or who are still deciding? Rose Diell and Nicole Louie have written books that explore meaningful lives outside of motherhood. Join us to learn more about their books, why they came to write them, and ask questions of your own.
Nicole Louie - author of Others Like Me is the story of fourteen women around the world, from different walks of life, who don't have children. It's also the story of why Nicole Louie had to find them and what they taught her.
Rose Diell - author of Fledging. Beautifully written and brilliantly original, Fledging is a riveting tale and resounding call for a woman’s right to make her own choices, whether that means embracing motherhood or living child-free.
Nicole and Rose will be here in conversation with Fiona Powley, the founder of Childfree Bristol (a group for women who have chosen not to have children, where you can connect, share experiences and make real friends), about the themes raised in their books. Join us for what should be a fascinating discussion. Tickets cost £6 and include a glass of wine or soft drink and £2 off the books.
