event
held at Bookhaus
on Tuesday 5th May. The event starts at 18:00.
In a world where economic inequality is deepening, xenophobic movements continue to rise, and the climate crisis edges towards an irreversible tipping point, it can feel overwhelming to imagine how meaningful change can is possible against all these odds. Yet, as human rights lawyer and award-winning activist Nani Jansen Reventlow reminds us in her new book Radical Justice, transformation is both necessary and within our collective reach.
BSWN are delighted to invite you to join us at Bookhaus where we will be hosting Nani for an evening that goes beyond the traditional book launch format: an interactive, community-rooted conversation that invites attendees not only to listen, but to reflect and imagine boldly and without limitations. Drawing from Radical Justice's insightful essays on strategic litigation, racial and social justice, climate, action, and digital rights, this event creates a necessary space to think about how each of us can participate in building a more equitable future, starting from our own spheres of influence.
Rooted in Nani's decades of legal and activist experience, the conversation will illuminate both the systemic forces we are up against and the everyday possibilities for resistance, repair, and re-imagining.
Nani will be in conversation with Professor Foluke I Adebisi (University of Bristol). Tickets cost £7 and include a glass of wine or a soft drink and £2 off the book. Presented by bookhaus and the Black South West Network.
