STIR Magazine 10th Anniversary: ABCs of the New Economy with Special Guests

Since 2013, STIR has shared the stories of the people and organisations working to build a new economy – one based on social, environmental, and economic justice. A decade of bold political experiments have worked to advance democratic ownership and community organising. Yet crises continues and new economic models are urgently needed in local communities.
Join the discussion with our panel of special guests to explore how our broken economy can be transformed:
– How we can tackle the cost of living crisis at its roots and fix public services.
– How mutual models can transform an unfair housing conventions
– How do we reform education to unlearn capitalist norms
– How community-ownership can remake unsustainable and inequitable systems
– How the UK can play catch-up and embrace the worldwide co-operativist and commons movements to bring about the regenerative and equitable society we so desperately need
The STIR team will be joined by a panel of new economic actors. Tickets cost £5 with complimentary drinks from local breweries available to all.
