A
gig
held at Breaking Bread
on Wednesday 4th August. The event starts at 19:00.
t l k is an independent producer, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and collaborator based in Bristol (UK). Her sound nests in the ‘melantronic’ subgenre, combining intricate vocal layers, sub-infused synth swells, percussive textures and field recordings. Shaped by Bristol’s live improvisation scene and manifested in her introverted moments, t l k creates immersive landscapes to better understand the worlds in which we swim.
Blending dream-like floatation with the visceral, t l k transports us inside ourselves. Drawing from influences such as James Blake, Thom Yorke and FKA Twigs, her fusion of melancholic downtempo, electronic minimalism and vocal vulnerability has allowed t l k to be recognised as one of “the most compelling vocalists in Bristol right now”.
The Pergola stage holds space for the full t l k band to emerge for the first time, with Bethany Stenning (STANLÆY), James Storm Otieno (GOYA) and Liam Twohig (Gabriel Templar) expanding the t l k sound world for Bristol’s ears.
The event is hosted by the one and only MĀDŁY, tickets available at £60 for a table of 6.
