A Doctor's Story of Love and Loss at Colston Hall Foyer
Event Cancelled

A event held at Bristol Beacon Foyer on Saturday 16th May. The event starts at 14:00.

This event is part of Good Grief Bristol, A Festival of Love and Loss. 11-17 May 2020 (https://goodgriefbristol.com/)

Dr Rachel Clarke is a physician specialising in end of life care. Her recent book, Dear Life: A Doctor’s Story of Love and Loss (2020) draws on her experiences of having spent many years working with people confronting death, offering reflections on her career and on the importance of high-quality, compassionate palliative care.

A natural storyteller, Clarke offers moving accounts of the people she supported in their final days and shares the experience of losing her father to cancer. Her first book Your Life in My Hands: A Junior Doctor's Story was a Sunday Times best seller.

In an intimate interview, hosted by Dr Lucy Selman (founder of Good Grief Bristol), Dr Clarke will discuss the importance of good end of life care, and how to live a good life. She’ll also share her own experiences of grief. After the interview, there will be an opportunity for questions from the floor, and Dr Clarke will be available for book signings.
