Under the Skin at Colston Hall
£19.50 incl. booking fee

A gig held at Bristol Beacon on Friday 14th April. The event starts at 19:00pm.

This will be a screening of the film ‘Under the Skin’ with the London Sinfonietta live, conducted by Mica Levi, composer of the film’s score.

Jonathan Glazer’s 2014 film Under the Skin, starring Scarlett Johansson, achieved widespread acclaim for its uncomfortable portrayal of an otherworldly predator. The intoxicating soundtrack conceived by Mica Levi contributed to the film's chillingly ethereal power.

Previously known as a DJ and for her band Micachu and the Shapes, who have collaborated with the London Sinfonietta, Levi found international fame after the release of the film and earned herself a BAFTA nomination for the score. With strains of Ligeti and Cage running through its hazy mix of digitally-processed and live sound, Levi’s microtonal world is deeply compelling in its oscillation between sensuality and disquiet.
