Marc Ribot’s Map of a Blue City is a deeply personal album nearly 30 years in the making.

Blending lo-fi home recordings, studio sessions produced by Hal Willner, and a wide sonic palette spanning roots, no wave, bossa nova, noise, and free jazz, the album showcases Ribot’s distinctive voice as a guitarist, songwriter, and, for the first time, as a singer.

Centering his plaintive vocals, it includes original songs alongside reimaginings of Allen Ginsberg’s Sometime Jailhouse Blues and the Carter Family’s When the World’s on Fire. This solo live tour offers an intimate setting for Ribot’s hard-won reflections, inviting listeners into the warm, unflinching room where these songs live.
