A gig held at Bristol Beacon on Saturday 14th January. The event starts at 20:00.

This project started during the Covid Lock-down, via Zoom rehearsals and then an online performance for West Midland Jazz.
Brainchild of Paul Clarvis for a commissioned project, he roped in a couple of musicians he has worked with before in different genres, to play some tunes he really loved.....and it's real mix-and-match of styles and approach (Irish songs; Mose Allison Blues songs; contemporary songwriters Bernstein & Sondheim, Moondog, Gillian Welch, Nick Lowe, and some old jazz tunes from the likes of Ellington's Mood Indigo) but what came out was lots of fun and very, very good musicianship.

Paul first heard Cathy sing 5 years ago in a pub in Sligo…and was immediately drawn to the directness of her voice , with a dynamic range from a whisper to louder than Concorde…the following year , they played a gig together at the wonderful Sligo Jazz Festival … Paul was looking for an opportunity to involve her in other projects , and the request from West Midlands Jazz in lockdown seemed like the perfect opportunity.
Liam and Paul first met playing and touring in Moondog’s band…collaborating in many joint projects along the way, Paul thought it was a no-brainer to invite Liam to join the project on piano.
