A
gig
held at Bristol Beacon
on Saturday 19th May. The event starts at 20:00.
Listening to Sam Evian is like drifting through a mellow sun-soaked memory of 1960s America. His dream-like falsetto vocal melodies wash effortlessly over “an epic kaleidoscope of instrumentals” (No Depression) and create a sound saturated with beachy, bright coolness and nostalgia. Drawing from classic psychedelic rock and blues, with influences remenicant of sounds from White Denim, Tame Impala and Nick Hakim, Evian’s new EP ‘Need You’ is a creative collaboration with Chris Cohen recorded over five days in Cohen’s garage studio in Los Angeles. Lazily drift into his blissful summer sounds as he performs at Rough Trade Bristol.
Support from Willie J Healey
