Pee Wee Ellis:
Pee Wee's 2011 double-album Tenoration celebrated his 70th birthday and his 55th year in the music business! Ellis has toured all over Europe, Russia, USA, South America and Africa showcasing the jazz-laced funk he'd pioneered as a member of the James Brown revue in the mid-late'60s. Pee Wee worked for many years as Van Morrison's musical director and was also in-house producer at CTI records in the 1970 s.
Ellis is currently a member of Ginger Baker's Jazz Confusion as well has fronting his own Funk Assembly.
Fred Wesley:
Legendary bandleader, trombonist and author Fred Wesley had his rst break with Ike and Tina Turner before becoming the lynchpin of James Brown's group from 1968-75 acting as trombonist, musical director, arranger and composer for the'Godfather of Soul'.
He then took funk to the next level with both Parliment-Funkadelic and Bootsy's Rubber Band with George Clinton and Bootsy Collins. Wesley has also been a member of Count Basie's orchestra and worked with Ray Charles.
