Whether in Van der Graaf Generator or as a solo artist, Peter Hammill has been a cult figure in British music for over 40 years. Although he has experimented with style along the way – from baroque prog rock to punk and chamber music – Hammill’s music is “characterised by its originality, its lyrical intelligence and by his magnificent singing voice” (The Quietus). Performing tracks from his new release Anagnorisis – recognition, revelation: re-evaluation, this is Hammill at his poetic and brooding best.
