A gig held at Bristol Beacon on Tuesday 16th June. The event starts at 20:00.
Kuribo Jams is a live collision between Bristol’s underground music and movement communities.
Built around a powerhouse house band featuring some of the city’s most respected musicians, the night begins with a live opening set before opening into an evolving jam where dancers, vocalists, musicians and movers step into the space and respond to one another in real time.
As the music builds, dance mats open and the room transforms. Breaking, ballroom, freestyle and movement artists enter the floor as the live band adapts, reacts and pushes the energy forward. No fixed sets. No pre-planned routines. Just live exchange, instinct and improvisation.
This is where live music meets cypher culture.
The line between performer and audience dissolves as the crowd becomes part of the momentum, shaping the atmosphere, backing standout moments, and helping decide the night’s most unforgettable dancers and musicians.
The opening band features Harry Stoneham (Bass, Waldo’s Gift), Cy Brandl (Guitar), Elma Houghton (Saxophone), Monty Willoughby (Keys), Irish Mellow (Vocals), and Kerris McDonald (Drums), all veterans of the Bristol scene with experience spanning major artists, international shows and festivals across the country.
Together they create a sound that is raw, grungy, underground and alive, pulling from jazz improvisation, grime energy, live hip hop, broken rhythm and Bristol’s deep-rooted DIY culture.
Kuribo Jams is the first pilot of a new interdisciplinary live series designed to bridge music, movement and community through real-time collaboration, experimentation and shared energy.
