A
gig
held at Bristol Beacon
on Wednesday 15th November. The event starts at 20:00pm.
Born out of the Tomorrow’s Warriors project, Ezra Collective are “pioneering the new-wave of UK jazz music” (Boilerroom.tv). Led by drummer Femi Koleoso, the group deliver an “intoxicating mix of afrobeat, jazz, reggae and hip hop” (Time Out) that is constantly surprising and distinctively ‘London’ in flavour.
After winning the Yamaha Jazz Experience Award, the boys have gone on to play Ray’s Jazz Café, the Royal Albert Hall, sell-out gigs at Ronnie Scott’s and to open for Terence Blanchard. Counting Ty and Gilles Petersen amongst their avid supporters, the collective are at the forefront of the UK’s jazz resurgence.
Support from Bristol's own Feelgood Experiment, fine purveyors of progressive soul-jazz and RnB layered with cosmic lyrics and impressive improvisation.
