A gig held at Bristol Beacon on Wednesday 18th November. The event starts at 20:00.
Pussy Riot: Riot Days is an electrifying fusion of live music, theatre and multimedia from the internationally renowned feminist protest collective.
Created by Maria Alyokhina and based on her memoir, the performance traces Pussy Riot’s history of activism, resistance and political persecution, while continually evolving to reflect contemporary events.
Combining spoken word, live instrumentation, video and performance art, Riot Days explores themes of protest, freedom and collective action through a deeply personal lens. Performed hundreds of times around the world, this powerful and immersive production offers a bold, urgent and uncompromising reflection on art, politics and dissent in the modern age.
You can read more from Maria Alyokhina with their new book Political Girl. A book about Alyokhina’s courageous fight against Putin’s increasingly authoritarian Russia, from her release from prison to her daring escape after resisting war, repression and political persecution.
