Celebrating the music of cult Nigerian synth funk pioneer, William Onyeabor

William Onyeabor, the'cult Nigerian musician adored to great acclaim by the likes of Damon Albarn, Caribou and 2 Many DJs' (The Guardian), is the great synth pioneer who self-released eight nearly impossible-to-find albums between 1978 and 1985 in south-eastern Nigeria. He then became a Born-Again Christian and refused to speak about himself or his music. In 2013 David Byrne's Luaka Bop label released the compilation, Who Is William Onyeabor?, to great acclaim by after a frustrating five-year search to track the musician down.

At tonight's show, a stellar cast of artists, gather to celebrate the mystery and genius of the man, playing his music live for the first time ever.

This is only one of two performances taking place in the entire world so is truly a must-see event.
