Sam Amidon at Bristol Folk House

A gig held at Bristol Folk House on Friday 22nd November. The event starts at 20:00.

US folk artist Sam Amidon’s voice, “with its dusky bronze hue” (Pitchfork) exhales a rich breath of influences heralding from Nick Drake and John Martyn to Alexi Murdoch. Through his effortlessly flowing guitar, banjo and fiddle playing he reinvents traditional bluegrass ballads and conjures songs of his own via jazz-orientated improvised jams to conjure a sound that is both wistful and timeless. Fans of modern innovators Laura Veirs and William Tyler along with traditional Appalachian folkies alike will not want to miss this captivating artist forging “gritty, personal new paths in folk” (The Guardian).

Plus support from Luke De-Sciscio

This is a seated Colston Hall Presents show at The Folk House, 40a Park St, Bristol BS1 5JG
