"Guesting with Yetii a few months back, Jon Lloyd demonstrated why he’s one of the most quietly brilliant UK jazzmen of the last 30 years. With John Law on piano, Nick Pini on bass and Alex Goodyear on drums, this’ll be a dazzling showcase of the best of contemporary jazz –steeped in non-Western music, ECM melodic fusion and a hushed neo-classical grace."

on Friday 5th June. The event starts at 19:30.
Saxophonist/composer Jon Lloyd has been running his quartet - with pianist John Law, bassist Nick Pini and drummer Alex Goodyear - for three years now, during which time the group made the wonderfully acclaimed album Earth Songs (currently at nearly 2 and a 1/2 million streams and rising!) and they have an even more stunning recording shortly to be released. Jon's original music is deceptively simple, using subtle melodies and chords to create a hauntingly original sound, reminiscent of some of the Nordic music on the ECM label. Mesmerising and hypnotic, Jon Lloyd's works remind us that music doesn't have to be highly complex. This is music that reminds us of the elemental power of sound, and organisation of sound, and what it means to sit and listen. And wonder.
"Sounds like the only music you ever want to hear." [London Jazz News]
