Queercore Forever at Cafe Kino
Headfirst Editor's Pick

"We’re veeery here for this scene-saving new run of DIY punk shows for barely the price of a pint! A Friday night five-biller of fringe noise, including glitchy chiptune from Bristol experimental queer scene fixture Eyre, Sigil’s howling emo-laced screwgaze and more, plus gig-goer discounts at the Kino kitchen."

Food Battle 2006:

BB:
You are wading through murky swampy waters, searching for the nearest toilet. Ow! you exclaim as you tread on a needle of a syringe left there by a horny Tgirl. A bass guitar floats atop the rancid water sparking with electrical energy. You are femminising rapidly as the corrupted estrogen pulses through your bloodstream, but more importantly, you still really need a piss. You collapse. As you fall your bladder relaxes releasing the urine you were holding onto so desperately. As your head sinks below the water you begin to hear a siren's song. It is singing the Macarena. You relax into the warm water and you feel just like you are at a BB gig.

Eyre:
Eyre is Bristol's obsessive light-up gameboy musician, crafting the catchiest melodies, the crunchiest basses, and the cheesiest blipblops. She strives to sound like a pop star, but remains forever trapped in the recesses of the queer underground, her piracy-influenced chiptune echoing the irreverent, lonely melodies of the first folk songs to score the digital age.

Sigil:
Sigil fuses atmospheric electronica with trap beats and pitched up emo-influenced vocals. Inspired by Crim3s, Elusin, My Chemical Romance, Salem and friend & collaborator PROVIDENCE144, Sigil pulls from her wide range of influences to deliver raw, emotional and hard-hitting witchhouse. The witchhouse revival era is now.
