Casper James and His Orchestra + Dream Motel + Hudol at Cafe Kino

A gig held at Cafe Kino on Friday 28th August. The event starts at 19:45.

Casper James and His Orchestra -
Heart broken’ front porch yearners to the front. Toying the line between wistful and whimsy, 24 year old songwriter Casper James is joined by his jangly rag tag orchestra to deliver tear jerking alt-country melodrama. Carousels of eccentrics weave through Casper’s dynamic swan-songs, sugarcoating them with theatric pianos, banjos, beepy synths, to a pair of spoons. No face is left dry as Casper’s gritty tone conjures a feeling that is tangibly raw, heartfelt, and infectious. This is medicine for the dirt poor, emotionally unstable, oh-too-full-of-love cow folk.

For hopeless romantics and fans of: Lucinda Williams, Big Thief, Karen Dalton,  Hudson Freeman, Angela Autumn, Whiskeytown, Ugly

Dream Motel -
Emerging from Bristol and South Wales, Dream Motel are a female-fronted four piece blending dreamy 90's alt rock with modern R&B influences. Their debut single Heat has been described as (having) 'an explosive presence' and balances catchy hooks with vulnerable and emotionally direct lyricism

Hudol -
Founded by multidisciplinary artist and frontwoman Sera Boudreaux in January 2026, HUDOL—Welsh for “magical” - are a bilingual Welsh alternative band creating shimmering astral soundscapes where grunge haze, ethereal art-pop and ancient folklore collide.

Sung in Welsh and English, their music feels half diary, half spell: intimate, otherworldly and emotionally charged—like discovering a shimmering cassette washed ashore on a Welsh beach. Sad-girl nostalgia in audio form. Hudol channels themes of transformation, mythology, magick, romance, femininity and our connection to Mother Earth. Layered guitars, hypnotic vocals and atmospheric electronics are woven into a distinctive visual world inspired by Welsh landscapes, alternative culture, witchcraft and the nostalgic textures of the 1980s through to the early digital 2000s.
