RILEY/RADLEY + CARNIVOROUS PLANTS at Cafe Kino
Headfirst Editor's Pick

"Free entry! Imploding destructo-rock double billing from two treasured local underground units. Riley/Radley take a desert-frazzled Sun City Girls-style detour into primitive guitar twang and impressionistic drums, while Carnivorous Plants marry found radio sound smudges with melodic dronegaze delight. A basement treasure FFO: Bill Orcutt, Dirty Three, Flying Saucer Attack, Manuel Mota."

ELASTIC FURNITURE PRESENTS:

RILEY/RADLEY
Fingerstyle guitarist Danny Riley and drummer Noah Radley had the idea for their collaborative project at a Flower/Corsano show. From that point they've been deconstructing rock, folk and the edges of metal in their own freeform, esoteric way. Taking notes from the forefathers of the style such as Sun City Girls and Six Organs of Admittance, Riley/Radley are carving out their corner as being worthy torchbearers for improvised, sun soaked avant-rock; taking a genre, blending it up and making worthwhile use of the resulting pieces...

CARNIVOROUS PLANTS
Drone with memories attached. Owen Chambers constructs melancholic layers of remembering and being, like lying with the sun in your face remembering a time you'll maybe never get to experience again. With Carnivorous Plants' tones washing over you, you may just feel like you're truly back in that time and place again.
