Bring along your houseplants for listening, chats and play!
Join Hat Fidkin and Jocelyn Brett for an intimate evening of interspecies art making,
exploring connections between ourselves and the ‘more-than-human’
through playful experiments in sound, writing and spoken word.
Throughout the session, participants will have access to a bio-sonification machine, which uses technology to turn the bio-rhythms of natural living objects into sounds. You will use the bio-sonification machine to create your own unique sound works, through recording the biorhythms of your favourite houseplant and/or your own bodies.
Wider discourse around the benefits and the future of fungal/plant sound art will be encouraged. The group will be exploring the physical, spiritual and societal benefits of ancient biorhythms, and how we can share this knowledge with a wider audience.
Please bring along a houseplant to collaborate with if you choose, though some plants will also be provided.
