Use of The Erotic: The Erotic as Power Workshop at The Tobacco Factory

A event held at The Tobacco Factory on Friday 3rd May. The event starts at 15:30.

Join Shakara x Diaspora Fest workshop, 'User of the Erotic: The Erotic as Power,' inspired by Audre Lorde's essay, for a transformative exploration of sensation, feeling, and personal empowerment. Through movement, meditation, and reflection, participants delve into the profound depths of their erotic selves, guided by Shakara's expertise. Engage in dialogue, share experiences, and witness powerful performances, all aimed at unlocking the full potential of the erotic as a force for self-discovery and liberation.

Shakara is a versatile multidisciplinary artist, exploring the realms of film, AI, spoken word poetry, and singing to articulate the depth of their creative expression. Integrating spirituality, healing practices, and personal identity into their work, Shakara crafts pieces that resonate with radical vulnerability and empowerment. Their art serves as a conduit for self-discovery and communal healing, inviting audiences to engage with themes of authenticity and transformation. Following the workshop, Shakara will share some 'Work-In-Progress' offering a glimpse into their erotic practise.
