SOLOISH at Centrespace Gallery
See event details

A gig held at Centrespace Gallery on Sunday 12th October. The event starts at 18:00.

Pete is the trumpeter with BBC Jazz Award-winners @gettheblessing, acoustic duo @jow2o, and ambient-jazz-minimalist duo @eyebrow.music, and multi-instrumentalist with chamber-folk trio @threecanewhale, as well as composer of 3 (now nearly 4!) albums of solo piano music.

He’s also a serial collaborator with artists from other artforms, including dancers & choreographers, poets, filmmakers, audio-visual artists, photographers, installation artists… and, as of October 2025, four renowned Bristol-based illustrators, as part of their “We’re Here Now” retrospective show in lovely Centrespace Gallery.

On Sunday October 12th, he’ll be sharing some work-in-progress for (almost) solo trumpet, the ripening fruits from an Arts Council England “Developing Your Creative Practice” award. The latter took him to a rewilding project in West Wales earlier this year (enabling him to work with its creator, photographic artist @mikeperryartist), and also gave him time to begin a series of trumpet miniatures in response to the work of the twentieth-century Greek poet Yannis Ritsos. He’ll even be joined by a very special guest or two…

Plus there'll be time during the interval, and before and after the gig, to take a closer look at the work of "We're Here Now", illustrators Adrian Barclay, Joe Berger, Danny Jenkins and Henning Löhlein.
