Join us for the closing night of the 'Buried Moons: Forgotten Tales from Beyond the Patriarchy' exhibition at Centrespace Gallery, and a wonderfully FINT (female, intersex, nonbinary, trans) celebration of International Women's Day! Yippee!
An evening of fun, frolics, singing, dancing and poetry, hosted by Evie Rey, organiser of the brilliant Queer Storytelling night! Feel free to come along for the ride, or bring something to share at the open mic!
THE PROJECT
This IWD event will conclude the week-long exhibition 'Buried Moons, Forgotten Tales from Beyond the Patriarchy' - a group show celebrating FINT figures in folklore. A self-funded, grassroots project nearly 6 months in the making!
THE LINE UP
♡ Evie Rey: Evie is Queer, Celtic folk storyteller. They strive to create art that openly celebrates and challenge’s identity. @evierey_art
♡ Shakara: Shakara is a Jamaican-born spoken word artist, poet, vocalist, creative based in Bristol. She is a revolutionary poet, and pursues revolution through the evolution of consciousness. Her creative practice is her soulwerk. @_shak.ara
♡ The Swanning Folk: A progressive, Bristol based collective of clog dancers cherishing the traditional step dances of the British Isles. @theswanningfolk
♡ Molly Cheek: With just her voice and guitar, Molly draws on the spirit of blues and folk, taking inspiration from local folklore, family history, and the magic of place. @old.moll
♡ Elaoise Benson: Elaoise Benson’s work across painting, poetry and performance discusses themes on feminism, love and environmentalism. @ebenson_art
♡ Aiysha Humphries: Aiysha is a poet and performer from Cornwall, living in Bristol, exploring topics of mental illness, relationships, queerness, mixed heritage identity and oranges. They have gigged all over the South West, London and and worked in Romania exploring the relationship between music and spoken word. @aiysha_humphreys
♡ Silky Disturbance: Electronic Folk band Silky Disturbance will bring unique sonic flirtations mixing intricate rhythms, low end textures and heartfelt songwriting. @silkydisturbance

We'll finish around 9.45pm, as we have to close the building by 10pm latest.
This event is to platform and celebrate FINT voices, but we welcome allies to join the event.
THE GALLERY
The Buried Moons Exhibition is a space for everyone to feel welcome, prioritising and supporting FINT and other marginalised creatives.
There will not be a bar available, so BYOB - but please be careful as we will have art pieces in the gallery!
