Papershell Micropress Autumn Issue launch

Papershell Micropress Autumn Issue launch at Clifton Community Bookshop, 10 Clifton Rd, Clifton, Bristol BS8 1AF

An event on Friday 23rd October. The event starts at 18:30.

Join us for the launch of Strangers in Strange Places, the latest issue of Papershell’s literary journal.

What does it mean to become a stranger – to your body, to your home, to another person, or to a place you thought you knew?

Strangers in Strange Places brings together prose, poetry, and creative nonfiction that explore the eeriness of finding yourself somewhere – or becoming someone – you no longer recognise. Our contributors consider the strange and unsettling spaces between the familiar and the foreign: the collision of two selves from different times; art objects suffering an existential crisis; writing not as an act of love and creation, but of theft; social courtesies commanded by divine law.

We’ll be joined by contributors from across the issue, with readings taking place both in person and virtually. There will also be a conversation with our writers, artists, and members of the Papershell editorial team, exploring the ideas, inspirations, and strange places behind the work.

And, to close the evening, we’ll announce the theme of our next issue.

We look forward to seeing you!
