With his live band, Danny and the Burritos, they depict immense showmanship, coupling impressively detailed, relatable storytelling with emotionally-driven performances.

Danny Burrito is not a name you’re likely to forget, what began as a jest full comment is now Danny’s branding (and life). The next time you ask your friend what they’re having for tea that evening, think again as it might become your stage name for years to come. Danny Jalfrezi doesn’t quite have the same ring, nor does Danny pasta bake. Thus, Danny Burrito was born, from the foggy skies of South East London.

The up-and-coming rapper and songwriter has been carving a name for himself in his new stomping ground, Danny relocated to Bristol four years ago and threw himself into the thriving contemporary jazz scene. Often found performing at open mics and jams throughout the city, it was during these live performances which reignited his love for performing and engaging with an audience

Since then, Danny has gone on to perform at some of the city’s most prestigious venues, such as Strange Brew, The Gallimaufry and supported Oscar Jerome at St. George’s Glass Studio.

With a newfound sense of confidence and community, Danny released his debut EP Metamorphosis in July 2020. The summer seasons have seen Danny perform at festivals (Inglefest) and gigs (Hootenany Brixton) with Heyouki, a hip-hop / neo-soul outfit in which he shares vocal duties.

Often dealing with themes such as loss, toxic masculinity and identity, boasts a unique delivery of flow, blending styles from influenced genres such as spoken word, grime, garage, and hip hop, drawing off influences such as The Streets and George the Poet, Danny defies convention.

Danny Burrito’s latest single Thelonious Punk will be released January 2024.
