A gig held at The Cloak and Dagger on Monday 11th April. The event starts at 11:30.
The journey of parenthood is a magical and maddening one so what better way to cope with it than through stand up comedy! AFTERMIRTH is an adult comedy club that you can bring your baby to.
Each week we’ll have 3 top circuit comedians delivering their usual club routines so the material is mature and sweary with the odd birth story flash back.... The only difference is it’s during the day. Babies under 12 months are welcome, but please don’t bring older toddlers because they tend to heckle!
This special afternoon gig has reduced amplification and a dimmed room so no one will notice those red eyes from sleepless nights. You’re encouraged to bottle, breast or Haribo feed and you can walk about or shake Mittens the Special Rabbit in order to soothe your offspring and no one will moan or mutter if your little one cries or screams.
There’s drinks available in the bar too so treat yerself to a Prosecco, you deserve it!
The gig is also open to parents, Aunts, Uncles, Grans, carers, in fact anyone who needs some afternoon comedy and doesn’t mind some cute babies in attendance.

Your headliner is Dave Thompson
Dave has performed his quirky style of stand-up comedy act in forty-four countries and four cruise ships. Known for his one-liners and absurd persona, Dave has written material for many other comics, including Harry Hill, Ronnie Corbett, Bruce Forsyth, Jim Tavare, Ben Elton, Phil Nichol, Omid Djalili, Stewart Lee, Tony Law, and John Moloney. He's best-known for having been the actor in the Tinky Winky costume in the world famous TV show 'Teletubbies’.
Dave has done five feature films. ‘Maybe Baby’, written and directed by Ben Elton, ‘I Want Candy’, directed by Stephen Surgit, ‘Huge’, directed by Ben Miller, and 'Harry Hill – The Movie’. His fifth feature film is a Hollywood production, filmed in 2021. Due to a non disclosure agreement, he can’t say the title until after the release. He’s in two episodes of ’The Last Kingdom’ season five, on Netflix. Dave’s 12th TV commercial in which he has a starring role, is currently being transmitted across Europe.
