Raise the Bar presents another raucous, dynamic, thought-provoking and life-affirming evening of live poetry at Bristol Beacon, featuring Salena Godden, Nikita Gill and Cecilia Knapp.

Salena Godden FRSL is an award-winning writer, novelist, poet, memoirist and broadcaster, whose debut novel Mrs Death Misses Death won the Indie Book Award for Fiction and the People’s Book Prize.

Nikita Gill is a British-Indian poet, playwright, writer and illustrator who has written and curated eight volumes of poetry, and uses social media to engage her audience of over 650,000 followers on Instagram, one of the most popular poets on the platform.

Cecilia Knapp is a poet and novelist and the Young People’s Laureate for London 2020/2021. She was shortlisted for the 2022 Forward prize for best single poem, and was winner of the 2021 Ruth Rendell award.

This event will be BSL interpreted.
