Line up:

SEAN MCCABE

Bristol-based producer/DJ Sean McCabe released his first tracks in 2003 and has since fine-tuned a trademark sound that is effortlessly soulful.

McCabe made his name in the house scene, working with legendary US garage label King Street Sounds and remixing the likes of Dennis Ferrer, Evelyn Champagne King, Carolyn Harding, Blaze, and Roland Clark.

Since then, he’s amassed an impressive discography of over 100 releases for labels like Local Talk, Strictly Rhythm, Vega Records, Foliage, Phuture Shock Musik, and Dave Lee’s Z Records. Aside from the above, he also runs the Good Vibrations label and reputed local party of the same name.

ROSIE FROM THE BLOCK

Rosie From The Block is the alias of Brussels-based songstress, producer, DJ and multi-instrumentalist
Roselien. Heavily inspired by broken beat, she released her first EP under the side project in 2022 via Belgian imprint Vice City, shortly followed by the ‘Believe In It’ EP on Phuture Shock Musik.

Over the years, Rosie’s work has caught the attention of renowned music figures such as Reggie Watts, IG Culture and Lefto, as well as broken beat legend Kaidi Tatham, who remixed her 2018 single ‘Loving’. As a live contemporary soul act, she has supported shows for world-renowned artists like Gregory Porter, Meshell Ndegeocello, and Bilal.

More recently, she has made waves as a DJ having played regular sets across Europe and currently hosts a monthly show on Kiosk radio in Belgium. Rosie has also forged strong ties with the Bristol music scene, which has resulted in several DJ gigs in the city, connecting with local artists and sowing the seeds for future collaborations – so far of which has seen the 2024 release of ‘Deep Within’ EP - a collaborative project with Bristol producer Sean McCabe.

With South American roots, his compositions draw on various Afro-Latin styles such as Candombe and Batucada, whilst encapsulating a diverse sonic brew of jazz fusion, funk, hip hop, broken beat and electronica, all of which makes up his soulful and highly musical sound. During his career he has DJ-ed across Europe, playing thrilling sets that reflect his eclectic influences.

As a keen collaborator, he has teamed up with numerous artists such as Sean McCabe, Pedro Ricardo, Sara Bee, Juli Giuliani and MaBreezee, all resulting in released projects. While his acclaimed debut solo album “La Búsqueda” (2020) won high praise and support from the tastemaker likes of Gilles Peterson and Toshio Matsuura, positioning Karmasound as one of the most interesting voices of the modern bruk scene.

SENTINEL 793

Sentinel 793 is a Bristol-based bruk producer and DJ, otherwise known as Benji Magnetic, who has been making electronic music under multiple aliases since the late 90s.

In recent years, he has been turning heads within the broken beat scene with his left-leaning, bass-heavy Bristolian take on the West London-born genre. Still a relatively young project, so far he has dropped a clutch of self-releases via his own Universal Magnetic imprint, as well as debuting on Phuture Shock Musik with the 2023 single ‘A Bruk Ting’ featuring the vocals of Bristolian emcee T. Relly. The following year saw the track remixed by J:Kenzo, elevating the track to anthemic status across the UK bass underground.

Along with a monthly residency on SWU FM (on the Rinse FM network), his tunes have been supported by a wide range of DJs including Gilles Peterson, Don Letts, Jamz Supernova, Shy One, DJ Die, Alex Nut, and Om Unit, among many others.
