Level the Vibes Pres. Salomon Heritage (RootsArna)

— Cosies
Specialist Reggae club night focusing on vintage reggae styles from across the decades & styles
price: Headfirst Tickets

Level the Vibes is delighted to welcome Roots Arna of Salomon Heritage Record label and Sound System, based in Montpelier, France.

Salomon Heritage has been a mainstay record label for roots and dub aficionados for the past 10 years since its inception in 2010 with their killer first release ('Sick of this Pain / Done with the Joking'). Since then they have put out tunes with King General, Aba Ariginals, Kibir La Amlak, Murray Man and more! It is truly a record label that has gone from strength to strength over the years and commands a lot of respect from the roots massive! More recently Roots Arna has set up two new record labels, one called Dub Vision - dedicated to raw dub Zulu style productions, and another called Hidden Treasures - resurrecting previously unreleased reggae productions. Hidden Treasures has a strong first release from Danny Coxson which sounds as fresh as his 80s material. This record label is particularly exciting for Level the Vibes as we are totally addicted to vintage reggae recordings from back in the day! As well as the record label, Roots Arna also runs Salomon Heritage Sound System and a sound system night called 'Conscious Corner' (previously he ran 'Montpelier Dub Splash')

Roots Arna is a real veteran selector who regularly plays on sound systems across France and Europe, including Reggae festivals such as Dub Camp. He has played in England a few times at UNOD and University of Dub in London but so far he has not made an appearance in Bristol. So this will be his first appearance in Bristol and it is with great excitement that we welcome him to our favourite basement club for a night of pure roots and culture! Roots Arna will play his signature blend of reggae music from across the styles and eras, something we love to hear at a Level the Vibes session!

Watch a few clips of Roots Arna in action on the following YouTube links:

Warming up will be Spud Roots playing a mix of Rocksteady, Studio 1, Roots, Rub-A-Dub Digital and Vintage Dancehall.. Strictly vinyl selection

Only £4 before 11 so tell a friend to tell a friend to tell a friend!
