WE STILL HAVE TICKETS ON THE DOOR. Advances are now sold out. Come down early to avoid disappointment.

The perfect soundtrack to kick off the Bank Holiday revelry, Goldman Trax proudly revisit an homage to an icon of queer and dance music culture, the Paradise Garage. Music styles: disco, funk, soul, electro, 70s, 80s, and some early house records the Garage inspired.

We had so much fun hosting the last Paradise themed event back in August: we simply had to return for an evening of jam hot beats from across a galaxy of sounds. For this one, we'll feature an opening set (10pm-midnight) from Night Rider & Katrina Lewis, infamous label heads and party promoters of the 90s free-party scene. And after that, we're locked to 3 hours of Goldman Trax joy (midnight-3am).

More on the history of Paradise Garage and the event follows just below, grab your tickets whilst they're hot.

"It was home, a safe haven and that shared experience brought us altogether. There were gay people, there were straight people, drag queens, white, black, asian. It was a melting pot. They all came to express themselves."

For a brief time, between 1977 and 1987, heaven came to New York in the form of the Paradise Garage nightclub. Its humble exterior - a converted car repair shop - mirrored the no-frills, up-front attitude of the club. What Studio 54 did for glamour, the Garage would do for joy and love of expression. An icon of early LGBTQ+ culture in NYC, the club championed the productions and DJ work of queer artists at high volume, though in a context that welcomed all.

Paradise gained a reputation for 12 hour marathon parties, attended both by underground artists and superstars. It was one of the earliest venues to place a DJ's performance as the central aspect of the night, magnified through a gorgeous soundsystem. Although a galaxy of stars played at the venue, Paradise Garage is synonymous with Larry Levan's extended sets of diverse music, known to take punters to states of near-religious ecstacy.

Above any other venue, the music and style of Paradise Garage has been a core influence for us. We aim to cultivate a fun and welcoming party, leaving expectations at the door, and above all - if it's fun, we'll play it. Even though the heyday of the Garage ended in 1987, its messages are just as important today. For more about Goldman Trax, our commitment to providing a safe event, and what to expect - see below.

"Friday night was supposed to be the straight night, and Saturday night was supposed to be the gay night. But everybody went to every night. All the mothers’ children: the straight ones, the freaks, everybody in between. It was a place to go and dance and not be judged."
