May at The Crafty Egg (Fishponds)

A gig held at The Crafty Egg (Fishponds) on Friday 30th May. The event starts at 19:00.

Crafty Folk Events are back this month for our third instalment of local acoustic music and arts and crafts! Each month, we bring a chilled out alternative to a Friday night out, celebrating local songwriters and giving you the time to make some art and engage with your local community!

If you would like to bring your own sketchbook or craft along this is more than welcome, but paper and pens are supplied on the night :)

May's musicians are...

Ryan McMurtry:
A rare solo set from the Irish folk songwriter usually seen in bands such as Play Misty and Sugarmoon. Ryan's solo art has been supported by BBC Introducing, CLUNK Magazine and others in the past year.

"A likeness to John Martyn and Nick Drake" - Obscure Sound

Albert:
By playing in bands of multiple genres and experimenting by recording and mixing his own songs, Albert has created a unique sound best labeled as 'acoustic grunge'. His introspective lyrics take the relatable feelings that come from growing up in a digital age and morph them poetically to create an often times dark and eerie atmosphere inspired by Slint, Elliott Smith, Portishead and King Krule.

Hedgehog Sessions:
Hedgehog Sessions is a trio of singer-songwriter which started as a uni project, recording live folk music with different artists across Bristol to celebrate folk musicians and the environments in which this sound thrives. By interweaving harmonies and instruments into their different styles, Hedgehog Sessions are able to bring new energy to each song they collaborate on.

Entry requirements: no age restrictions
