Soul In The City is a new night dedicated to celebrating the rich legacy of Black music, from soul-tinged pop to funk-soaked R&B. Curated by French artist Maxime Elliot, this event brings together local talent, unforgettable melodies, and fresh original music. Expect a warm, intimate evening of soul-stirring performances, storytelling, and good vibes in a cosy setting at The Crafty Egg.

LINEUP: INDIA ARKIN / SCARLETT FAGAN / LAURA DIA

INDIA ARKIN

India Arkin is a 24-year-old alternative artist blending influences from Wolf Alice and Radiohead into a bold, genre-fluid sound. Now based in Bristol, she’s played festivals like Bingley Weekender and Left Of The Dial in Rotterdam, and supported acts including Tom Grennan and The Feeling. With new music on the way and a reputation for powerful live sets, she’s fast becoming one to watch on the UK scene.

SCARLETT FAGAN

Scarlett Fagan is a London born Soul singer and songwriter. In May 2022 she released her debut solo album ‘Conscious’ which was produced by the amazingly talented Matthew Dyer. The album is a distinctive blend of Soul, Jazz and RnB, accompanied by soul baring lyrics. Drawing inspiration from Soul/Jazz legends such as Amy Winehouse and Etta James, Scarlett’s live performances are raw and honest but with a sultry, seductive edge.

LAURA DIA

Laura Dia is a Nigerian-Irish singer, songwriter and producer from Bristol. Her music lies within the realms of contemporary R&B, Pop and Soul but she also draws inspiration from indie rock, hip hop and her west African heritage. She has received support from BBC Radio Bristol, Soton, BBC Introducing in the West, BBC Radio 1 as well as playing stages and venues such as The Bristol Beacon, Love Saves The Day, Bristol Harbour festival Glastonbury, Boomtown and she’ll be returning for a second year to Forwards festival this August.
