RepresentAsian is the podcast and 1020 radio show that champions South Asian DJs in the UK underground. Through conversations with a selection of DJs, hosts Safiya and Yusuf bring together voices from the South Asian diaspora to promote their presence, celebrate the culture and change the narrative.
They’ll be taking over Crofters Rights for the first in their new events series, with Bristol’s best South Asian DJs. Expect to hear the sounds of Bhangra and Bollywood cut in with your favourite garage, UK funky, afro house and more.

Bristol-based but promoting and DJing at club events right across the UK with no_one, Rishi is fast becoming an important figure in the UK club scene. His other night Brown Excellence, like us, champions the South Asian dance community covering the full spectrum of electronic dance music mixed with Asian flavours.

DJ Adveevah (Booty Bass)
Booty bouncing, sweat drippin’ and good vibes is what Adeevah is all about. With a mix of Ballroom, Vogue, UK Funky, and Baile Funk guaranteed to get you living your best life on the dancefloor. Adeevah joined Booty Bass, a collective of female and non-binary DJ’s from Bristol and London.

Yusuf Suave (Top Rankin')
Yusuf began DJing in Bristol as The Sultan back in 2009. After a back to back set with Roni Size at Bristol Beacon, he quickly made a name for himself playing regularly across Bristol, Manchester and London. Alongside his Top Rankin’ night and radio show on SWU FM, he’s also had appearances on 1Xtra, BBC Asian Network and Reprezent Radio.

Moorni is a diverse creative interested in everything from arts curation, illustration and DJing. Her love for collaborating with different creatives around a shared motivation by community is a core focus in her artistic practice. Being self-taught has given her the space to make mistakes on her own terms, particularly after she completed a degree in Theology, led by her curiosity of culture, literature, and society.
