Melotone - 'And... Beyond' EP Launch at Crofters Rights

A gig held at The Croft on Saturday 22nd July. The event starts at 19:00.

On the 22nd July Melotone will be hosting their EP launch at Crofters Rights, with support from t l k, Rossana and Bethany Ley. Join us for a night of music from some of Bristol's finest alternative artists.

Melotone
Melotone are a psych-jazz band from the Black Country, more interested in texture and ambience than ego. They draw inspiration from '60s psychedelia, namely the jazz-infused Tropicalia movement, with lulling guitar play and hypnotic vocals that float freely into Portuguese. Sometimes drifting into the realms of folk, jazz, and soul, Melotone are a truly global band despite humble beginnings, channelling instrumental pioneers Khurangbin and Kikagaku Moyu with vocals that resemble the arresting style of singers like Jeff Buckley and Brittany Howard, and at times the spirit of Portuguese-English singing Caetano Veloso. 'And... Beyond' is their debut EP, releasing 21st July on Think Twice Records.

t l k
“This music is going to reach people and places far and wide”
BBC6 Music
Bristol-based producer and vocalist t l k stretches the thin fabric of selfhood, leaning deeply into the ethereal realm. Fluid in genre and form, and emphasising improvisation as a core tenet for psychological processing, the enchanting sound of t l k is permeating the Bristol scene.

Rossana
Rossana is a 24 year old, London-based singer-songwriter. Her music is notably influenced by the years of classical education as well as her later studies in Jazz performance. This project proposes to bridge her Portuguese roots with the urban London scene

Bethany Ley (Fka. STANLÆY)
Bethany Ley is an independent producer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist based in Bristol, UK. Bethany Ley's sonic world circulates intricate arrangements informed by Bethany’s eclectic musical background. Fuelled by collaboration, landscapes (internal and external), cross-pollination and the synergy between the organic and the glitched out synthetic
