A gig held at Dareshack on Sunday 12th November. The event starts at 19:00.

Glue Trip provide luscious, decorative & dreamy sonical landscapes, with roots in authentic Brazilian music. Their consummation of unique musical styles has resulted in the formation of a distinct psychedelic sound which they are kindly bringing to Bristol! Support on the evening comes from ethereal melody-makers Pocket Sun & local psychonauts Dreamwave.

Glue Trip

Glue Trip is a musical project led by Brazilian musician Lucas Santa Cruz. Lucas formed the project in 2013 as an experimental recording project and quickly gained momentum, having now released 3 albums and celebrated success with viral hits such as ‘Elbow Pain’ & ‘La Dead del Future’, thus making Glue Trip a reference point for contemporary Brazilian psychedelic music.

Glue Trip have displayed increasing maturity and incorporation of their Brazilian roots within their progressive releases. Indeed, their latest full length ‘Nada Tropical’ (produced by Zé Nigro) features collaborations with great names in Brazilian music, including maestro Arthur Verocai, São Paulo singer YMA, and musicians Otto and Felipe S from Pernambuco.

With several international tours under their belt, including sold-out shows in London and Paris on their last tour, Glue Trip is building a notable reputation, backed by memorable performances and releases. They stand out as one of the most interesting and innovative musical projects of today.

Pocket Sun

Born from a woozy synth-fuelled landscape, Pocket Sun fuse alternative pop, psychedelia, and jazz, holding an outcome that’s playful and tinged with nostalgia. Through ethereal melodies and hypnotic grooves the ensemble invites you to lay back and feel the sunshine on your face, close your eyes and sway into synaesthetic bliss.

Hailing from Bristol, UK, the band is spearheaded by lead vocalist and synth player Gina Marie Tratt. Gina’s background in 70s inspired animation features at the forefront of the band’s aesthetic, ensuring their performance becomes a visual extension of their sound.

Pocket Sun have nurtured their journey over the past four years through a series of singles and EP’s. ‘Wake Up’, the lead single from their latest EP ‘Binocular’ (produced by Ali Chant - PJ Harvey, Portishead, Gruff Rhys), went on to be re-released on Kitsuné, alongside artists such as Hot Chip, La Roux and Two Door Cinema Club.

Dreamwave

Originally no more than a university bedroom project in Brighton, Dreamwave formulated their psychedelic, garage sound in 2021 with debut single ‘Doomsday’, along with a string of sell-out shows in Bristol and Brighton to support the release. Recorded in a plethora of bedrooms and living spaces, as well as in a studio above Moles in Bath with Chris Ellul (The Heavy) on engineering duties, the band released follow-up single ‘Rolling Through The Dread’ in 2022. Following this release and supported by BBC Radio Bristol, BBC Introducing and The Big Jeff show on Soho Radio, Dreamwave toured the UK. Highlights of which included support slots for Boogarins, Night Beats and System Exclusive (Castle Face Records) and a set at Bristol Beacons Take Over festival.

Entry requirements: no age restrictions
