"Sell out warning! Essential free entry sit-down with the UK godfather of all things leftfield in dub. Disturbing the comfortable and comforting the disturbed since 1981 with the grassroots On U Sound empire, Adrian’s going to offer crucial insights into his legacy from Lee Perry to Ministry, Mark Stewart to Horace Andy and everything in between."

on Thursday 16th November. The event starts at 18:00.
A Talk with Adrian Sherwood: 18:00 - 20:00
To kick off our program of free entry events, we are gassed to welcome @onusherwood. The founder of On-U Sound, Adrian is a pioneer of experimental dub, from his involvement with African Head Charge to his collaborations with legends such as Lee Scratch Perry and Dub Syndicate.
The talk will be moderated by the immaculate Tony Nwachukwu, Founder of Create Define Release (CDR). The talk will encompass Adrian’s life, projects and endeavours in and out of music.
Adrian’s influence on the UK dub scene is pivotal, with a vast amount of music originating from Bristol having that familiar experimental dub sound. Adrian represents a genre of music that is undeniably Bristolian.
The talk will run from 19:00 - 20:00, with a social hour to connect with other attendees hosted in the venue foyer and bar from 18:00 - 19:00.
You can register your interest in attending this event by signing up for a free ticket here on Headfirst. Please note that registering your interest DOES NOT GUARANTEE ENTRY. This event will be run on a first come/first serve basis.
This event made possible by funding from Arts Council England National Lottery.
The crux behind seeking funding from Arts Council England was to better bring to life and increase our ability to enact one of our main - if not the main - ethos of En Masse; to build a festival for all music-loving Bristolians.
We’re utilising this funding to help us reach a larger community within the city, and will incorporate Bristol’s distinctive pool of music practitioners, creatives, artists and community spaces to ensure we are engaging as many willing ears as possible, from as many different backgrounds as possible.
