Juju, a 23-year-old singer-songwriter, moved to Bristol last October to immerse herself in the rich melting pot of talent and art the city boasts. During her first year here Juju has been performing with her three-piece band in various venues across the city and working towards the release of her debut singles, which this live performance at Dareshack sets to celebrate. Drawing influence from the likes of PJ Harvey, Kate Bush and Florence + The Machine, Juju conjures up a melancholic, dirty alt-rock noise that will leave you humming for weeks to come.

Juju will also be joined by special guests Soot Sprite. Soot Sprite are a three-piece shoegaze/indie band from Exeter, signed with Specialist Subjects Records. The latest record ‘Poltergeists’ was released in October last year and the new single ‘Lazy’ was released this July! Poltergeists was played extensively on BBC 6 Music, playlisted by NME and reviewed by clash music and brooklynvegan.

This event will also feature a performance from London-based DJ Maria Hanlon. Maria moved to London last summer and has been busy shaping her sound ever since, securing monthly residencies at Supermax, Apothecary, Seven Dials Market and Mama Shelter whilst hosting 'Maria Meets' on Voices Radio. She’s also played at Café 1001, The Haggerston, Next Door Records, Radio Delicious, Spiritland, Ridley Road Market Bar, Hackney Bridge, Hootananny and We Out Here festival to name a few.
