Book Talk: Gaudí: God’s Architect

Book Talk: Gaudí: God’s Architect at Design West

An event on Monday 5th October. The event starts at 18:30.

‘It is hard not to be beguiled by his genuine enthusiasm'– William Whyte, Church Times

Join acclaimed biographer and broadcaster Peter Stanford as we mark the centenary of Antoni Gaudí's death. We'll explore his life and work and reflect on the enduring influence he has on today's architecture.

Gaudí combined innovative engineering with revolutionary Catalan Art Nouveau to create architecture far ahead of its time.

From the dreamlike landscapes of Park Güell to the soaring spires of La Sagrada Família, the basilica that Gaudí devoted the final years of his life to and which, a century after his death, is still under construction.

Expect an engaging evening uncovering the remarkable story behind some of the world's most beloved buildings. Perfect for anyone interested in architecture, art, history, heritage and the people behind great design.

Books will be available to purchase at the event, with an opportunity for signing and further conversation in the bar afterwards.

The event takes place at The Architect, Bristol, BS1 4QA.

Entry requirements: no age restrictions (under 18s to be accompanied by an adult over 21yrs, 1:1 ratio)
