Stokes Croft & St Paul's Squatted: a walking tour at Docklands Centre
See event details

A event on Sunday 18th June. The event starts at 11:00.

Squatting is central to Bristol’s history. For the last fifty years, Stokes Croft and St Paul's have been two of the city’s most squatted neighbourhoods. This short walking tour includes a selection of buildings squatted in and around Stokes Croft in the 1970s, 1980s, 2000s and 2010s. The buildings were used by a variety of people and groups for housing, political organising, art, music and as social centres. Join us to look back at what Bristol owes to squatting, to learn from this history, and to discuss the place this tactic can have today.

This walking tour is part of the Bristol Transformed festival, taking place on 16th, 17th and 18th June. Info and tickets: https://www.headfirstbristol.co.uk/#date=2023-06-17&event_id=86494
