Double-bill of insanely talented young Bristol-based bands, both making their El Rincón debut. Cirenne is the brilliantly-unusual trumpet/electronics/objects & violin/viola duo of Celeste Cantor-Stephens & Caelia Lunniss, playing new music with touches of klezmer, chamber music, the avant-garde, folk, jazz, improvisation and found sounds - and playing it extremely well indeed. Playful & cinematic, serious & silly, their music has been featured on BBC Radio 3, and won the 2022 Bubbe Award prize for Best New Klezmer Composition. // Wisp is an acoustic instrumental trio featuring Charlotte West (mandolin/guitar), Alex Heane (guitar/double bass) & Cirenne’s Celeste on trumpet, playing original music that draws on the melodies & rhythms of folk alongside the layered, detailed textures of chamber music. Their interlocking parts and evolving melodies create a sense of movement, travelling and shifting landscapes.
