Liam C is a one–of-a-kind singer-songwriter whose determination and self-belief have propelled him from sleeping in hostels to having viral moments with global superstars. Born and raised in Colchester, Liam’s childhood saw his parents separate when he was young, and he and his younger sister moved repeatedly, finally settling in Shrewsbury with their mother. It was his grandmother, however, who ignited his passion for music, exposing him to an eclectic mix of styles—from Jilted John to classic folk—that would later shape his genre-blurring sound.
After schoolyard bullying and a restless adolescence, Liam risked everything on a one-way ticket to London with only a ukulele, a handful of original songs, and the last of his savings. Homeless, he took to busking on street corners and outside pubs, winning over passersby with is all-or-nothing approach. He built a loyal Instagram following, and blagged a meeting with Ed Sheeran at a Soho video shoot. Their impromptu 30‑minute session of advice and song-swapping affirmed Liam’s mission.
