The Courettes are a high voltage Brazilian-Danish garage Wall of Sound duo known for their explosive live shows and retro-futuristic style. Formed in 2014 by Flavia Couri (vocals, guitar) and Martin Couri (drums, vocals) the band combines the raw spirit of 1960s garage rock with the punch and power of early punk. Their music is an electrifying blend of fuzzedout guitars, pounding drums, girl group harmonies and a Wall of Sound production that pays homage to the past while sounding urgently modern.

From DIY roots to international stages, The Courettes have risen as one of the most exciting bands on the European rock scene. With releases on the legendary UK label Damaged Goods Records, they’ve garnered widespread critical acclaim with Rolling Stone calling them “the real sound of now,” and MOJO, The Guardian, Shindig!, Classic Rock and BBC Radio 6 regularly praising their work.

Their breakout album Back in Mono (2021) was a bold creative leap, layering their garage-punk energy with lush, Phil Spector-inspired arrangements. Its success was followed by Back in Mono – B-Sides & Outtakes (2023), which continued their exploration of vintage textures, cementing their reputation for sonic authenticity and dynamic songwriting.

In 2024 The Courettes released their most ambitious and soulful record to date: The Soul Of... The Fabulous Courettes. This latest album finds the duo diving deeper into their love for early soul and cinematic 60s pop—without losing the grit and bite of their garage roots. The result is a bold evolution: rich in harmonies, groove and emotional depth, yet still driven by their unmistakable energy and analog warmth. Critics have called it “a stunning expansion of their sound,” and fans have embraced it as a powerful new chapter in the band’s story.

With over 800 shows played across more than 20 countries The Courettes have toured extensively throughout Europe, USA, Japan, UK, South America and beyond - packing venues, headlining festivals and building a global fanbase one fuzz-drenched show at a time.
