A gig held at Fiddlers on Saturday 29th September. The event starts at 21:00.

Worm Disco Club and Manana // Cuba are joining forces to present a night of amazing live music, visuals and sensory meltdown featuring performances from two brilliant live acts.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Ariwo -

Ariwo exist to bridge the gap between ancient ancestral rhythms and modern electronic music.

Combining the power of Cuban drums, soaring hypnotic trumpet and sequenced electronics & effects, the result is an enticing and enthralling journey which will bend your perceptions and take you to a heightened musical place.

The band is made up of Iranian electronic composer, Pouya Ehsaei [Entr'acte], and three of London’s most influential Cuban musicians: Oreste Noda [Sambroso Sambroso], Yelfris Valdes [Sierra Maestra] and Latin Grammy winner, Hammadi Valdes [Carlos Acosta / Irakere]. Pouya samples and processes the live instruments while creating soundscapes and hypnotic rhythms that draw influence from the folkloric music of Cuba and his home city of Tehran.

A truly unique blend.

Tezeta -

Tezeta are a Bristolian 8-piece insturmental group that combine elements of experimental jazz, afrobeat, cinematic composition and collective improvisation. The musicians are part of local collective BLOOM with each one bringing their own twist and set of influences to the band.

Forming in 2014 being heavily influenced by Ethiopian legend, Mulato Astatke, they have since played many shows including Glastonbury Festival & Stroud Jazz Festival. In 2016 they released their debut album, Seventh Place. Since then they have continued to evolve and expand on their repertoire of mystical & evocative grooves.

ABOUT THE HOSTS

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Manana // Cuba - http://www.mananacuba.com/

Manana originally started as an electronic music festival that took place in Santiago de Cuba in May 2016. Many international acts from around the world (Adrian Sherwood, Plaid, A Guy Called Gerald, Uproot Andy, Dengue Dengue Dengue...) descended on Cuba for an event the likes of which the island had never before experienced. A remarkable feat and huge effort so as to join two cultures in celebration of music. Manana has grown into a record label and we are super excited to join them to host a party!

Based out of London, they are dedicated to bringing the best in modern Cuban-fusion music and spreading it around the globe. Having released Ariwo's debut records, they have since followed it up with another release from Soundspecies & Ache Meyi, all of which are absolutely essential!

Worm Disco Club - This event will actually mark the 4th anniversarry of Worm Disco Club!

Parties with a fun & colourful DIY asthetic that present some of the most singular and skilled live acts we can get hold of.

As well as promoting parties, WDC have also been working hard as DJ's both locally as well as playing shows in London, Amsterdam, Berlin & Brazil and a monthly radio show on Bristol based underground radio hub Noods Radio.

Expect the unexpected!
