KOKOKO at Fiddlers

A gig held at Fiddlers on Tuesday 26th November. The event starts at 20:00.

Hailing from Congo’s Kinshasa, KOKOKO! make explosive protest music using self-made string instruments and percussive inventions pieced together from recycled scrap materials. While their rhythmic, DIY reinvention is inspired by the artistic movements of 1980s New York, it’s important to note that the five-piece are forging an electrifying path that’s raw, creative and entirely their own.

Encompassing their chaotic surroundings with intense, instrumental vigor, the band have been described as “genius” (AFROPUNK) and “an explosive new musical collective that thrives on ingenuity” (TIME). Sporting a punk attitude with psychedelic charm, this thriving alternative dance group need to be seen to be believed.
